How Can I Apply Online for a PAN Card for an NRI?

  • Go to the homepage of the TIN NSDL website and click on the “Online PAN Application” tab.
  • From the two alternatives presented, choose Form 49A, the form for Indian citizens. It will open a page with instructions.

  • If you haven’t paid by credit card or net-banking, send the acknowledgement and any other supporting documentation to the address listed on the acknowledgement together with the check or DD.
  • Within 21 working days of receiving the acknowledgement, the PAN card will be mailed to the address indicated on the form.

Method of Payment

A registration fee of Rs. 110 will be charged if you have specified that your communication address is in India. Credit cards, debit cards, demand drafts, and net banking are all accepted methods of payment. A registration cost of Rs. 1,020 will be charged if your communication address is located outside of India. Debit cards, credit cards, or demand drafts are the available payment methods. You must make your demand draft payable to Protean eGov Technologies Limited-PAN in Mumbai if you choose to pay by that method.
