On Wednesday, December 14, 2022, the chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, unveiled Orunodoi 2.0 through a video link during an event in New Delhi. One of the largest DBT initiatives in the country, Orunodoi 2.0, seeks to give women from low-income families, older males, individuals with disabilities, and transgender people a basic monthly income flow. Orunodoi 2.0 now has 10.54 lakh new beneficiaries, as per Sarma’s report. A monthly transfer of Rs 1,250 is assured to over 27 lakh program participants. The money is transferred to their bank accounts on the tenth of every month, where it can be used to buy medicines, pulses, and sugar. Among its many benefits are enhanced nutritional support, financial literacy, and economic empowerment.
Orunodoi Scheme 2024
The Assam Orunodoi Scheme was introduced by the Assam government on December 1, 2020. The beneficiaries of the Orunodoi Scheme in Assam will receive Rs 830 per month to purchase necessities such as sugar, pulses, medications, etc. Four kilograms of beans will cost Rs 200, medicines will cost Rs 400, sugar will cost Rs 80, and fruit origin will cost Rs 150. The direct benefit transfer mechanism will be used under this arrangement to transfer the funds straight into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. The Assamese government would spend Rs 2400 crore a year on the Arunodoi Scheme.
According to a Thursday declaration by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, every Assamese household will obtain ration cards, and those who receive them will be eligible for benefits under the Orunodoi system. At the same time that Suresh Bora announced his intention to run for the Lok Sabha, Sarma traveled to Nagaon to address the party cadres. Scheme Beneficiaries
About 22 lakh individuals will be covered by this initiative. Sarbananda Sonowal, the chief minister of Assam, introduced this plan at an event in Amingaon, Kamrup district. The family’s female members will profit from these advantages, which will empower women. Under this plan, preference will be given to households with windows, divyang, single girls, etc. Under this program, the government also intends to add eight lakh more families. The Assam government would provide the families in 29 districts with 18.60 lakh of these 22 lakh beneficiaries.
Following the BTC elections, the remaining Bodoland Territorial Area District recipients would get a benefit sum. Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, and Udalguri are these districts. The beneficiaries will get the funds between November and December 1, 2020. On December 26, 2020, the benefit amount for December will be deposited into each beneficiary’s bank account.
Implementation Structure Of Assam Orunodoi Scheme
